Most patients can choose the most convenient option for the situation. This means that they can generally choose whether they will be meeting via video or in-person. There are only two exceptions to this.
- If a controlled substance is being prescribed, the patient is required by law (Ryan Haight Act) to attend one appointment in-person before the controlled substance can be prescribed (this is generally when certain anxiety medications or ADHD medication are needed)
- Only Aetna, Utah Medicaid and PEHP require in-person appointments for full payment. Unfortunately, the partial payment from these companies does not reach the “break even” point. Therefore, if you have one of those three insurance companies, you must attend all appointments in-person.

Payment is required at the time of service. We provide statements upon request for your account balance via the patient portal. If balance accrues and no payment is received, we reserve the right to seek payment by any means, including using the credit/debit information we have on file, retaining the collection agency, and taking legal action in court. We may be willing to work out a client payment plan that includes a reasonable period for resolving the balance. If the client’s balance remains unpaid, we reserve the right to suspend services until the balance is paid in part or in full
Dynamic Psychiatry requires you to provide your credit/debit card information on file with us so we can automatically charge any co-pays, co-insurance, deductible amounts, and professional service charges such as late cancellation or missed appointment charges. It is the client’s responsibility to keep cards accurate and up to date within the Patient Portal. All your credit card information is stored by a professional credit card processing company that we have contracted with. We do not store financial information.
Dynamic psychiatry has a strict no show policy because that spot is not available for another patient to receive care. Our no-show or late cancellation fee is $100. Cancellations with more than 24 hours notice are NOT assessed any fee. If you are more than 5 minutes late to a 30 minute appointment or 15 minutes late to a 1 hour appointment the late fee will be assessed.
Dynamic Psychiatry has contracted with Valant EHR to provide a HIPAA compliant one stop area for all your patient care and communication. This is called the “patient portal”.
The patient portal allows you to complete paperwork, schedule appointments, start telehealth sessions, pay your bill and communicate with the practice. All while protecting your information at levels that meet or exceed HIPAA requirements. It also provides an option to log into your patient portal via an app on your phone or via your computer or tablet.
