Dr. Benjamin Eliason

MD Psychiatrist

Benjamin Eliason MD is a psychiatrist trained in psychopharmacology, emergency psychiatry, group therapy, and adult outpatient psychiatry. Dr. Eliason graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Botany from Brigham Young University. He then went on to earn his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, followed by a residency with the Department of Psychiatry at the Medical College of Wisconsin’s affiliated hospitals. During his residency training, he participated in movement disorders, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and treatment of combat trauma at the Milwaukee VA medical center. Dr. Eliason practiced inpatient and consult-liaison psychiatry at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend, OR for several years. This involved treating patients with a variety of diagnoses and levels of psychiatric disorders. He has practiced in a variety of psychiatric settings in Bend, Oregon and West Valley City, Utah.

His training and practice has focused on outpatient psychiatry within a long-term model of self-improvement through psychodynamically-informed psychotherapy alongside medication management. He speaks Spanish and English fluently.

He continues to expand the range of his clinical experiences and knowledge.

Dr. Eliason takes a holistic view of mental health in the biological context of physical health with all its complex interactions and is committed to an integrated view of mental and physical health. Along with his interest in and experience with psychotherapy, this is an area of interest likely to benefit his patients.
