Psychiatric and Psychotherapy Services in Utah

Regina Schmitt

Mental Health Counselor Intern (MHC-I)

My motto is “You can become whole.” Therapy is not just about processing trauma, grief, or problems; it is also about you discovering who you are apart from others and connecting with your heart’s longings.

You will be provided with a person-centered approach providing unconditional positive regard, empathy, and active listening. Asking questions will allow you to consider your core beliefs that influence your decisions.

If you want someone who will provide compassion, challenging questions, and reflections then my therapy approach will likely be a great fit for you.

I have considerable interest in trauma, play therapy, and neurofeedback. I have been researching and studying the benefits of psychopharmacology.

I have experience in trauma, adult therapy, and working with individuals dealing with borderline personality disorder (BPD). My practicum (fall 2023) entailed working with clients dealing with BPD and various traumas. I have been working with a mediator and attorneys since the summer 2023 advocating for protective parents and child survivors of abuse in family courts.

I have a bachelor’s degree in nursing (2017), and I am currently completing a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Concordia University.

On my free time I enjoy running, reading, talking with friends, and spending time with my fiancé, Justin.
